Manufacturer description

The Western Digital Caviar Green 3 TB is a bare/OEM 3.5-inch SATA III desktop drive built for bulk storage rather than boot duty. With 3 TB of capacity and a 64 MB cache, it suits media servers, NAS-adjacent backup boxes, retro-PC file dumps, and secondary storage in a gaming build where you need somewhere to park game installs and video archives. What sets the Green line apart is power behavior. Western Digital's IntelliSeek feature calculates optimum seek speeds instead of always ramping to maximum, which lowers power draw, noise, and vibration. WD rates Green drives at up to 40 percent…
