Pros & Cons
Pros
- ✓ 40Gbps / 2000MHz bandwidth, well past Cat6a and Cat7 ceilings
- ✓ S/FTP shielding on all 4 twisted pairs cuts EMI and RFI
- ✓ 24K gold-plated RJ45 contacts resist corrosion on outdoor runs
- ✓ UV-resistant PVC jacket rated for sun, cold, heat and humidity
Cons
- ✗ 40Gbps needs Cat8-rated NICs and switches most homes do not have
- ✗ Flat cable design is harder to fish through conduit than round
- ✗ Heavy S/FTP shielding makes 50FT stiffer and bulkier to route
- ✗ Shielding only grounds properly with shielded RJ45 keystones and ports
Manufacturer description
The Qiuean Cat8 Ethernet Cable in a 50FT run is built for people who need a single cable to leave the router, cross a wall, and keep working outside. It carries data at up to 40Gbps and 2000MHz, which puts it ahead of Cat7, Cat6a, Cat6 and Cat5e for bandwidth headroom on LAN and WAN segments. Inside the jacket are 4 pairs of shielded twisted-pair copper conductors in an S/FTP layout that cuts EMI and RFI interference, terminated at 24K gold-plated RJ45 connectors chosen for corrosion resistance over long runs. The thickened PVC outer jacket is UV resistant and rated to survive direct…
SpecPicks Verdict
SpecPicks scored Qiuean Cat8 Ethernet Cable 50FT using a rating × review-volume × price-fit model applied to published specs and reviews across the networking category. Qiuean's networking lineup sits within the broader category mid-tier; price and specs are the deciding factors over brand loyalty here. Judge it on the specification table and the price rather than on sentiment: check the figures that decide your use case, then put it side-by-side with two or three close alternatives in the Compare tool before clicking through.
Common buyer scenarios for networking of this kind: matching it to an existing build, replacing a failing part, or upgrading from a previous-generation equivalent. Check the spec table below against your current setup — particularly socket / form-factor / power-rating fields — and confirm compatibility on the retailer's listing before purchase. Frequently Asked Questions
Will this Cat8 cable actually give me faster internet?
Not on its own. Cat8 supports up to 40Gbps at 2000MHz, but your speed is capped by your ISP plan and by the ports on your router, switch and PC. It gives you headroom, not extra bandwidth.
Can I run this cable outside or bury it in the ground?
Yes. The thickened PVC outer jacket is UV resistant and rated for direct sunlight, cold, heat and humidity, and the manufacturer states it can be buried directly. Check your local electrical code for burial depth requirements.
Does it work with my older Cat6 or Cat5e router and switch?
Yes. It is backward compatible with Cat7, Cat6, Cat5e and Cat5 equipment and works with any RJ45 device, including routers, modems, switches, patch panels, smart TVs, PS3, PS4 and Xbox.
Is 50 feet too long for gaming without losing signal?
No. 50FT is well inside the standard 100-meter Ethernet run limit, and the 4 pairs of shielded twisted-pair copper with S/FTP construction are designed to prevent noise and signal loss over the run.
How well does it hold up to repeated bending and reroutes?
Qiuean rates the cable for at least 10,000 bends, and the thickened PVC outer protects the core wire against abrasion.
Key Features
- CAT8 UlTRA INTERNET SPEED: CAT8 Ethernet Cable Supports high-speed data transmission up to 2000MHz, connect to LAN/WAN segments and networking gear at maximum speed. Faster than Cat7 / Cat6e / Cat6 / Cat5e / Cat5.
- DURABLE & STABILITY: CAT8 cable made of 4 Pairs 100% pure and thick shielded twisted pair (S/FTP) of copper wires, effectively reduce EMI/RFI interference. With 24K gold-plated RJ45 connector to ensure corrosion resistance and long-term performance (without noise or signal loss).
- UNIVERSAl COMPATIBILITY: Cat 8 flat Ethernet cable is compatible with Cat7 / Cat6 / Cat5 / Cat5e Ethernet cable. Provide universal connectivity for routers, smart TV, modems, ADSL, switches, patch panels, PS3, PS4, X-box, and other devices with RJ45 connectors.
- WEATHERPROOF & UV RESISTANT: With the durable PVC cover, the shielded ethernet cable cat8 can withstand direct sunlight and extreme cold & humid & hot weather yet still working efficiently. And this sturdy cat 8 patch cord can be bended at least 10 thousands times, suitable for both indoor setups and outdoor applications like connecting security cameras.
- ENVIRONMENTAL PVC OUTER: The thickened environmental PVC outer is used to protect the core wire from damage, abrasion resistance and bending resistance, can be buried directly .
