Manufacturer description

The LaCie Mobile Drive gives you 4TB of portable storage in a Moon Silver aluminum shell built for creative work that outgrows a laptop SSD. It connects over USB-C 3.2, so photo libraries, 4K video projects, and full-project archives move between PC and Mac without a hub or adapter chain. Capacity is the headline here: 4TB holds years of RAW shoots, editing scratch files, and completed deliverables on one drive you can drop in a bag. LaCie builds the enclosure with post-consumer recycled materials, so the sustainability story is in the hardware and not just the packaging. Two bundles come…

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the LaCie Mobile Drive work with both Mac and PC?

Yes. LaCie lists the drive as compatible with both PC and Mac over its USB-C 3.2 interface. As with any external drive, you may need to reformat it for your operating system's preferred file system; check the product listing for the out-of-box format.

Is this an SSD or a hard drive?

It is a portable HDD, a spinning hard drive. That is why you get 4TB at this capacity tier rather than the smaller sizes typical of similarly priced SSDs. Expect HDD transfer speeds, not SSD speeds, even over USB-C 3.2.

What is included with the Adobe All Apps Plan?

LaCie bundles an Adobe All Apps Plan, which provides access to the Creative Cloud application suite. Term length and activation steps are set by Adobe and LaCie, so check the current product listing for the exact plan duration before you buy.

What happens if the drive fails and I lose my files?

The drive ships with LaCie Rescue Data Recovery Services, a recovery program covering the drive itself. Coverage period and claim process are defined by LaCie, so review the current listing or LaCie's Rescue terms for the specifics.
