Senetem Cat 8 Ethernet Cable 20FT
Bottom line: The Senetem Cat 8 Ethernet Cable 20FT ($9.99 on Amazon as of 2026-10-06): 40Gbps at 2000MHz — far above the gigabit ceiling of typical home routers; main trade-off: 40Gbps is wasted on 1GbE ports — most home gear cannot use the headroom.

Pros & Cons
Pros
- ✓ 40Gbps at 2000MHz — far above the gigabit ceiling of typical home routers
- ✓ S/FTP shielding: 4 foiled twisted pairs cut crosstalk from adjacent cables
- ✓ 30AWG pure copper conductors, not copper-clad aluminum
- ✓ Flat profile runs under doors, windows, and carpet without bulging
Cons
- ✗ 40Gbps is wasted on 1GbE ports — most home gear cannot use the headroom
- ✗ 20FT is a fixed length; no slack management if your run is much shorter
- ✗ Flat cables resist coiling and hold kinks from tight packaging
- ✗ 30AWG is thinner than the 22-24AWG in most rated Cat8 installs
Manufacturer description
The Senetem Cat 8 Ethernet Cable delivers 40Gbps throughput at 2000MHz across a 20-foot flat run, giving your PC, PS5, Xbox, or router far more headroom than the gigabit ports most home networks actually use. Senetem builds it as an S/FTP cable: four shielded foiled twisted pairs of 30AWG pure copper terminated in 24K gold-plated RJ45 connectors, a construction aimed squarely at crosstalk and interference from adjacent cables and power lines. If your rig sits across the room from the router, that shielding matters more than the headline speed number. The flat profile is the practical selling…
SpecPicks Verdict
SpecPicks scored Senetem Cat 8 Ethernet Cable 20FT using a rating × review-volume × price-fit model applied to published specs and reviews across the networking category. Senetem's networking lineup sits within the broader category mid-tier; price and specs are the deciding factors over brand loyalty here. Judge it on the specification table and the price rather than on sentiment: check the figures that decide your use case, then put it side-by-side with two or three close alternatives in the Compare tool before clicking through.
Common buyer scenarios for networking of this kind: matching it to an existing build, replacing a failing part, or upgrading from a previous-generation equivalent. Check the spec table below against your current setup — particularly socket / form-factor / power-rating fields — and confirm compatibility on the retailer's listing before purchase. Frequently Asked Questions
Will this cable actually give me faster internet?
Not on its own. The cable supports 40Gbps at 2000MHz, but your real speed is capped by your ISP plan and your router's port — most home routers use 1GbE. It removes the cable as a bottleneck; it does not raise your plan speed.
Does it work with a PS5 or Xbox?
Yes. Senetem lists compatibility with PS5, PS4, PS3, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Switch, plus PCs, laptops, modems, routers, switches, smart TVs, IP cameras, and network printers — any device with an RJ45 port.
Can I run it outside or bury it under carpet?
The PVC jacket is waterproof and corrosion-resistant and Senetem rates it for indoor and outdoor use. The flat design is built to pass under doors, through windows, and beneath carpet without a visible bulge.
Is it backward compatible with my older Cat6 router?
Yes. It is fully compatible with Cat7, Cat6e, Cat6, Cat5e, and Cat5 equipment. It will negotiate down to whatever speed your existing gear supports.
