SpecPicks Verdict

SpecPicks scored abxylute S9 Full-Size Gaming Phone Controller for iPhone 15/16/17 using a rating × review-volume × price-fit model applied to published specs and reviews across the controllers & gamepads category. abxylute's controllers & gamepads lineup sits within the broader category mid-tier; price and specs are the deciding factors over brand loyalty here. Judge it on the specification table and the price rather than on sentiment: check the figures that decide your use case, then put it side-by-side with two or three close alternatives in the Compare tool before clicking through.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the abxylute S9 work with the iPhone 17 Pro?

No. abxylute lists the iPhone 15, 16 and 17 as compatible but specifically excludes the iPhone 17 Pro. Foldable smartphones are not supported either.

Will the S9 fit my iPad Mini or Android tablet?

The S9 extends up to 216mm and fits tablets up to 8.8 inches, including the iPad Mini 6 and 7. For guaranteed compatibility, abxylute recommends tablets shorter than 213mm.

Can I keep my phone case on while using the S9?

Usually, yes. The case must be less than 2mm thick between the case edge and the charging port. If you use the controller without a case, the included silicone spacers stop it from pressing the volume buttons.

Can I charge my phone while playing?

Yes. The S9 supports 5V 1A pass-through charging in both USB and Bluetooth mode, so your device keeps charging during play.

Does the S9 support vibration and headphone audio?

Vibration works in PS, NS and XInput modes but not in HID mode, and most mobile games don't send vibration signals. The 3.5mm headphone jack does not output audio in XInput mode. In NS mode it only works when connected to a Switch.
