Manufacturer description
Everything in this lot has been tested and works! All the buttons on the controller are working. Controller wire is damaged. For some reason when there is no controller plugged into port 2 player 2 will always be moving to the right. If you plug a controller into port 2 this will completely eliminate the issue. I noticed this while playing sonic 2. Tales would always walk right unless I plug a controller into port 2.
SpecPicks Verdict
SpecPicks scored Sega Genesis Model 1601 Gen 1 Console System Bundle using a rating × review-volume × price-fit model applied to published specs and reviews across the retro consoles category. Sega's retro consoles lineup sits within the broader category mid-tier; price and specs are the deciding factors over brand loyalty here. Judge it on the specification table and the price rather than on sentiment: check the figures that decide your use case, then put it side-by-side with two or three close alternatives in the Compare tool before clicking through.
Common buyer scenarios for retro consoles of this kind: matching it to an existing build, replacing a failing part, or upgrading from a previous-generation equivalent. Check the spec table below against your current setup — particularly socket / form-factor / power-rating fields — and confirm compatibility on the retailer's listing before purchase. Prices and stock are set by the retailer and may have moved since this page was last updated.
