Manufacturer description
This ps2 works but has issues. It is being sold as parts/not working. First issue is that it scratches cds while playing. It looks like the ribbon is scratching the cds. I tried to tape it down but that isn’t working. Sometimes the laser doesn’t go all the way down and makes a noise and won’t play disc. I have to manually push the laser down all the way and restart the machine then it will start working. The fan starts to make loud noise after awhile of playing. If you know how to fix this you will have a functional ps2.
SpecPicks Verdict
SpecPicks scored Sony PlayStation 2 Slim PS2 Console w/ Power Cord using a rating × review-volume × price-fit model applied to published specs and reviews across the retro consoles category. Sony's retro consoles lineup sits within the broader category mid-tier; price and specs are the deciding factors over brand loyalty here. Judge it on the specification table and the price rather than on sentiment: check the figures that decide your use case, then put it side-by-side with two or three close alternatives in the Compare tool before clicking through.
