Pros & Cons
Pros
- ✓ Certified to SMPTE ST-2082 12Gb/s for full 4K and 8K SDI runs
- ✓ Dual-shielded RG6: tinned copper braid plus aluminum foil cuts attenuation over 50ft
- ✓ Nickel-plated copper BNC connectors hold true 75-ohm impedance end to end
- ✓ Single 50ft run covers camera-to-recorder distance without an inline repeater
- ✓ Backward compatible with HD-SDI, 3G and 6G gear on the same cable
Cons
- ✗ 50ft fixed length only; no shorter run for short desk or rack hops
- ✗ RG6 at this shielding grade is stiff and resists tight bends behind a rack
- ✗ BNC-only ends need adapters for HDMI or DIN 1.0/2.3 equipment
- ✗ XRDS -RF is a lesser-known brand next to Canare or Belden in broadcast use
