Manufacturer description
The PNY Attache X 128GB USB 3.2 Gen 1 flash drive arrives as a 3-pack, giving you 384GB of total portable storage across three separate Type-A sticks. Each drive reads at up to 130MB/s, which PNY rates as up to 10x faster than a standard USB 2.0 flash drive, so a folder of HD video, high-resolution photos, or a large document archive moves in a fraction of the time you would spend on an older stick. The sliding collar cap is the practical design choice here: there is no separate cap to lose in a laptop bag, and the connector stays covered when the drive is not in use. Compatibility is broad…
SpecPicks Verdict
SpecPicks scored PNY 128GB Attaché X USB 3.2 Gen 1 Flash Drive 3-Pack using a rating × review-volume × price-fit model applied to published specs and reviews across the external storage category. PNY's external storage lineup sits within the broader category mid-tier; price and specs are the deciding factors over brand loyalty here. Judge it on the specification table and the price rather than on sentiment: check the figures that decide your use case, then put it side-by-side with two or three close alternatives in the Compare tool before clicking through.
Common buyer scenarios for external storage of this kind: matching it to an existing build, replacing a failing part, or upgrading from a previous-generation equivalent. Check the spec table below against your current setup — particularly socket / form-factor / power-rating fields — and confirm compatibility on the retailer's listing before purchase. Frequently Asked Questions
How much storage do you get in total?
Each drive holds 128GB and the pack includes three of them, for 384GB of total capacity across three separate sticks.
How fast is the PNY Attache X?
PNY rates read speeds at up to 130MB/s over USB 3.2 Gen 1, which it describes as up to 10x faster than a standard USB 2.0 flash drive. Write speed is not published.
Will it work with a MacBook or a USB-C laptop?
It is compatible with most Type-A USB 3.2 Gen 1 and USB 3.0 ports on both PC and Mac laptops and desktops. The connector is Type-A, so a USB-C-only machine needs an adapter or hub.
Does it work in an older USB 2.0 port?
Yes. The Attache X is backwards compatible with USB 2.0, though transfer speeds drop to that port's limit rather than the rated 130MB/s.
Is there a cap that can get lost?
No. The Attache X uses a sliding collar design that retracts the connector into the body, so the contacts stay protected without a separate removable cap.
