Pros & Cons
Pros
- ✓ 40Gbps at 2000MHz - 4x the rate and 3x the bandwidth of Cat 7
- ✓ S/FTP shielding: 4 foiled twisted pairs block crosstalk and EMI
- ✓ 24K gold-plated RJ45 ends resist corrosion on both connectors
- ✓ Flat nylon braid tucks under carpet and around corners
- ✓ Rated for 15,000+ bend cycles via double-layer weave
Cons
- ✗ Flat design cannot be punched into standard round-cable clips
- ✗ Cat 8 is overkill for 1Gbps home internet and gigabit routers
- ✗ 10 ft limits it to desk-to-router runs, not whole-house drops
- ✗ Cat 8's 40Gbps needs 40GbE gear almost no home network has
Manufacturer description
The Snowkids Cat 8 Ethernet Cable delivers 40Gbps throughput at 2000MHz bandwidth in a 10-foot flat run, which is four times the data rate and roughly three times the bandwidth of a comparable Cat 7 cable. That headroom matters if you are hardwiring a gaming PC, PS4, Xbox, or NAS to a router and want to stop blaming Wi-Fi for your ping. Inside the jacket, four foiled twisted pairs in an S/FTP layout shield the signal against crosstalk and electromagnetic noise, while 24K gold-plated RJ45 connectors resist corrosion at both ends. The flat nylon-braided profile is the practical selling point…
SpecPicks Verdict
SpecPicks scored Snowkids Cat 8 Ethernet Cable 10 FT using a rating × review-volume × price-fit model applied to published specs and reviews across the networking category. Snowkids's networking lineup sits within the broader category mid-tier; price and specs are the deciding factors over brand loyalty here. Judge it on the specification table and the price rather than on sentiment: check the figures that decide your use case, then put it side-by-side with two or three close alternatives in the Compare tool before clicking through.
Common buyer scenarios for networking of this kind: matching it to an existing build, replacing a failing part, or upgrading from a previous-generation equivalent. Check the spec table below against your current setup — particularly socket / form-factor / power-rating fields — and confirm compatibility on the retailer's listing before purchase. Frequently Asked Questions
Will this cable actually make my internet faster?
Only if your existing cable or link was the bottleneck. It supports 40Gbps and 2000MHz, but your throughput is still capped by your ISP plan and your router's port speed.
Does it work with my PS4, Xbox, or older router?
Yes. It is backward compatible with Cat 7, Cat 6e, Cat 6, Cat 5e, and Cat 5, and Snowkids lists PS4, Xbox, switches, modems, IP cameras, NAS, printers, and patch panels as supported RJ45 devices.
Is the flat braided design durable enough to run under a carpet?
It is built for that. The flat nylon braid uses a double-layer weaving process and has passed more than 15,000 bending tests, and the cable is rated for indoor and outdoor patch use.
How is this different from a Cat 7 cable?
Cat 8 supports 40Gbps versus Cat 7's 10Gbps, and 2000MHz of bandwidth versus Cat 7's 600MHz. Both use shielded twisted pairs; Cat 8 simply has far more headroom.
Key Features
- ⚡ 40Gbps 2000MHz Shielded Ethernet Cable High Speed CAT 8: Supports up to 40 Gbps data transmission (4x faster than Cat 7’s 10 Gbps) and 2000 MHz bandwidth (3x the bandwidth of Cat 7’s 600 MHz). Tailor-made for gamers and streamers! Supercharged speeds, next-level audio-visual quality, and seamless high-speed data transfer for servers, cloud storage and HD streaming—zero lag, no more waiting
- ⚡Wide Compatibility Internet Cable: Cat 8 Ethernet cable is backward compatible for Cat7, Cat6e, Cat6, Cat5e, Cat5. Fit for switch, IP Cam, routers, ADSL, Modem, PS-4, X-box, Patch panel, Servers, Printers, Netgear, NAS, laptop, Hubs, Keystone jack, TV, and other device with RJ45 connectors
- ⚡S/FTP Anti-Interference Design: Made of 4 pairs foiled twisted pair (S/FTP) copper wires with 24K gold-plated RJ45 connectors, more corrosion-resistant on each end. Protect the signal and prevent problems such as crosstalk, noise and interference
- ⚡Flat and Braided Network Cable: Use an optimized flat nylon braid design to maximize cable flex and fit perfectly around corners, easy installation and space saving. Suitable for embedded installations such as carpets, floors, etc
- ⚡Incredible Wear-resistant Lan cable: After a special double-layer weaving process, the lan cable 10 ft is more durable and wear-resistant, and the internet cable has undergone more than 15,000 bending tests
