Pros & Cons

Pros

  • ✓ Rated for 40 Gbps at 2000 MHz, well past most home multi-gig plans
  • ✓ F/FTP 4-pair shielding plus pure copper core cuts crosstalk in cluttered setups
  • ✓ Jacket tested to 10,000 bends, so rerouting will not kill it
  • ✓ Supports PoE at 6FT, powering a camera or AP without a separate adapter

Cons

  • ✗ 6FT is short for a console-to-router run across a room
  • ✗ Cat 8's 40 Gbps ceiling is wasted on typical 1 Gbps home internet
  • ✗ Braided jacket and heavy shielding make it stiffer than thin flat cables
  • ✗ PoE support is absent on the 65ft length in this cable line

Manufacturer description

Push 40Gbps Cat 8 speed into your rig without paying for a premium cable. The UGREEN Cat 8 Ethernet Cable runs 2000 MHz bandwidth over 6 feet, which is enough headroom for multi-gig fiber plans, LAN party file dumps, and 4K streaming without the stutter you get on aging Cat 5e runs. Four shielded foiled twisted pairs (F/FTP), a pure copper core, and gold-plated RJ45 connectors cut crosstalk and interference, so the link stays stable when the cable is bundled behind a desk with power bricks and USB runs. The cotton braided jacket is rated for at least 10,000 bends, which matters if you…

SpecPicks Verdict

SpecPicks scored UGREEN Cat 8 Ethernet Cable 6FT using a rating × review-volume × price-fit model applied to published specs and reviews across the networking category. UGREEN's networking lineup sits within the broader category mid-tier; price and specs are the deciding factors over brand loyalty here. Judge it on the specification table and the price rather than on sentiment: check the figures that decide your use case, then put it side-by-side with two or three close alternatives in the Compare tool before clicking through.

Common buyer scenarios for networking of this kind: matching it to an existing build, replacing a failing part, or upgrading from a previous-generation equivalent. Check the spec table below against your current setup — particularly socket / form-factor / power-rating fields — and confirm compatibility on the retailer's listing before purchase. Frequently Asked Questions

Will this cable actually make my internet faster?

Only if your service and hardware exceed what your current cable supports. The Cat 8 rating covers 40 Gbps at 2000 MHz, so it removes the cable as a bottleneck, but your speed is still capped by your ISP plan, router, and NIC.

Does it work with a PS5, PS4, PS3, or Xbox?

Yes. The RJ45 connector is compatible with PS5, PS4, PS3, Xbox, computers, laptops, modems, and routers, and it is backward compatible with Cat7, Cat6e, Cat6, Cat5e, and Cat5 equipment.

Is 6 feet long enough for my setup?

6FT covers a console or PC sitting on the same desk or shelf as the router. For a run across a room or between floors, choose a longer length in the same line.

Can I use this to power a PoE camera?

Yes. All lengths in this line support PoE except the 65ft option, so this 6FT cable can carry power to a PoE camera or access point without a separate power supply.

Key Features

  • 40 Gbps 2000 Mhz High Speed: The Cat 8 ethernet cable support max. 40 Gbps data transfer and 2000 MHz Brandwith, ideal for gaming and streaming, greatly improving upload and download speed, sound, image and resolution quality
  • Excellent Anti-interference: The ethernet cable comes with 4 shielded foiled twisted pairs (F/FTP), pure copper core and gold-plated RJ45 connector, reducing interference, noise and crosstalk, making network speed faster and more stable
  • Marvelous Durability: Internet cable wrapped with quality cotton braided cord, which makes the LAN cable stronger and more durable. The test proves that this internet cable can be bent at least 10000 times without broken, very suitable for long-term use
