Manufacturer description
The UGREEN Cat 8 ethernet cable is built for people who want their wired connection to stop being the bottleneck. Rated for 40 Gbps at 2000 MHz, this 3-foot UGREEN network cord carries far more headroom than a typical home or gaming setup will ever saturate, which is the point: it removes the cable from the list of things that could be limiting your throughput. Four shielded foiled twisted pairs (F/FTP), a pure copper core, and gold-plated RJ45 connectors work together to cut crosstalk and outside interference, so the link stays stable rather than fast-in-theory. The cotton braided jacket is…
SpecPicks Verdict
SpecPicks scored UGREEN Cat 8 Ethernet Cable 3FT using a rating × review-volume × price-fit model applied to published specs and reviews across the networking category. UGREEN's networking lineup sits within the broader category mid-tier; price and specs are the deciding factors over brand loyalty here. Judge it on the specification table and the price rather than on sentiment: check the figures that decide your use case, then put it side-by-side with two or three close alternatives in the Compare tool before clicking through.
Common buyer scenarios for networking of this kind: matching it to an existing build, replacing a failing part, or upgrading from a previous-generation equivalent. Check the spec table below against your current setup — particularly socket / form-factor / power-rating fields — and confirm compatibility on the retailer's listing before purchase. Frequently Asked Questions
Will this actually make my internet faster?
It removes the cable as a limit, not your plan. The 40 Gbps 2000 MHz rating exceeds any home connection, so you get the full speed your ISP and router deliver with less interference-related instability.
Is 3 feet long enough for my setup?
Three feet works for a console or PC sitting beside the router, modem, or switch. For a run across a room, choose one of UGREEN's longer lengths instead.
Does it work with PS5 and Xbox?
Yes. UGREEN lists compatibility with PS5, PS4, PS3, Xbox, plus computers, laptops, modems, and routers through the standard RJ45 connector.
Will it work with my older Cat 6 router?
Yes. The cable is fully backward compatible with Cat7, Cat6e, Cat6, Cat5e, and Cat5 devices, though your speed will be capped by the slowest port in the chain.
Can I use this to power a PoE security camera?
Yes. UGREEN states every length supports PoE power delivery except the 65 ft version, so this 3 ft cable can carry power and data to a PoE camera.
