Pros & Cons

Pros

  • ✓ Twist dial retightens in seconds when passing the headset between players
  • ✓ Shifts weight to the back of the skull, off cheekbones and brow
  • ✓ Independent top strap tunes headset height for lens sweet spot
  • ✓ Silicone rear cradle flexes instead of digging in during movement

Cons

  • ✗ Headset will not fit the Compact Carrying Case once this strap is on
  • ✗ No integrated battery, unlike the pricier Elite Strap With Battery
  • ✗ Adds rear bulk and weight rather than reducing total headset mass
  • ✗ Quest 3 and 3S only, so it will not carry over from a Quest 2

Manufacturer description

The Meta Quest Elite Strap replaces the soft fabric strap that ships with Quest 3 and Quest 3S, shifting headset weight off your cheekbones and onto the back of your skull. A twist dial tightens the fit in seconds, so you can hand the headset to someone else and have them dialed in before the next round loads. The flexible top strap adjusts independently to reposition the headset vertically, which matters when you are chasing the sweet spot in the lenses rather than just a tight clamp. A soft silicone support cradles the back of your head, cutting the facial pressure that ends long sessions…

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the Elite Strap fit the Quest 3S as well as the Quest 3?

Yes. Meta lists this strap as compatible with both Quest 3 and Quest 3S, and it also works with the Charging Dock, Carrying Case, and Compact Charging Dock.

Will my headset still fit in its case with this strap attached?

It fits the standard Carrying Case but not the Compact Carrying Case. Plan on removing the strap or using the full-size case for travel.

Does this strap include a battery for longer play sessions?

No. This is the standard Elite Strap, which handles comfort and weight distribution only. Meta sells a separate Elite Strap With Battery if you want extra runtime.

How does it actually reduce facial pressure?

The rigid arms and dial transfer load to the back of your head via a silicone cradle, so the facial interface rests against your face instead of being cinched into it.

Is it worth the price over the stock fabric strap?

For long sessions, fitness apps, or shared use, most buyers say yes. Check the listing for current pricing, which changes often.
