Pros & Cons

Pros

✓ Native 12V-2x6 connector, ATX 3.1/PCIe 5.1 ready for RTX 5080 and RX 9000
✓ 10-year warranty, longest tier in the ATX 3.1 850W class
✓ Cybenetics Platinum efficiency, a step above its 80 PLUS Gold rating
✓ Hybrid fan mode keeps the 135 mm FDB fan silent at low loads

Cons

✗ 850W caps you out for dual-GPU or overclocked RTX 5090 builds
✗ 80 PLUS Gold badge undersells it, so cross-shoppers skip it on spec sheets
✗ OptiSink passive-cooling claims are hard to verify without load testing
✗ Fully modular cable set means more cables to route and store

SpecPicks Verdict

SpecPicks scored Seasonic Focus GX-850W 850W Power Supply using a rating × review-volume × price-fit model applied to published specs and reviews across the power supplies category. Seasonic's power supplies lineup sits within the broader category mid-tier; price and specs are the deciding factors over brand loyalty here. Judge it on the specification table and the price rather than on sentiment: check the figures that decide your use case, then put it side-by-side with two or three close alternatives in the Compare tool before clicking through.

Common buyer scenarios for power supplies of this kind: matching it to an existing build, replacing a failing part, or upgrading from a previous-generation equivalent. Check the spec table below against your current setup — particularly socket / form-factor / power-rating fields — and confirm compatibility on the retailer's listing before purchase. Prices and stock are set by the retailer and may have moved since this page was last updated.
