You fasten the short drive to this red metal bracket, then screw the bracket into the existing 2280 mounting point, so the drive is held firmly at the far end. Only certain conversions work: 2230 to 2242, 2260 or 2280; 2242 to 2280; and 2260 to 2280. The bracket does not support 2242 to 2260, so check your drive length and your target slot before you order.
